Welcome to EMSA!

The Equine Museum of Science and Art is a community-driven collaboration of horse lovers, artists, and scientists united by a shared passion for illuminating the extraordinary world of the horse. We are building a one of a kind museum dedicated to the love of the horse in the Pacific Northwest.

Through immersive, ever-evolving exhibits, we will weave together art, technology, and scientific discovery to reveal not only the horse's profound impact on human civilization, but also the way these remarkable beings perceive and navigate their own reality. In this dynamic, welcoming space, visitors of all backgrounds are invited to engage, learn, and celebrate the timeless bond between horse and humankind.

We believe that now more than ever, people need to come together to build something beautiful for the future. That belief is at the heart of everything we do.

We are currently in the fundraising stage of the museum and actively growing our presence in Portland through community art projects like Pony Up Portland, live events including Pickathon, local business collaborations, and a growing calendar of experiences designed to bring horses into everyday life across the city. Every partnership, every painted pony, and every event is a step toward making equine education and appreciation accessible to everyone.

Our mission is inclusive by design. This museum belongs to the community, and we are building it together.

Follow along on social media to stay connected with everything we are creating, find horses hidden around Portland, meet the artists and makers involved in our projects, and be part of what comes next.
